I´ve had one for about 3 months now and paid £1,995 for an 07 plate with 400 miles on clock.
So what you paid isn´t to bad,
Great first bike very economical and reliable.Top speed will depend on a few things,wind up/down hill,your hight/weight.I can get 70 at a push but plod around at 50-60.
