ok guys, im not sure on the cdi, but im guessing its like most xrs (i dont have a 125) and the only real restriction on it is the exhaust, the xrs are notorious for the welding near the exhaust outlet where the pipe joins the head, the welding nearly always is too much and restricts the exhaust flow, you´ll need to get your dremal or drill with a grinding block on it and grind the weld smooth, the next part of there restriction is the exhaust itself, it doesn´t flow! so you´ll either need to get an after market one or, remove the little restricting cap at the end of the exhaust, now that you have done that you have a free flowing exhaust, the next step is the intake, the little snorket on the air box is the bugger that slows the air movement, so removing that is the easy next step, once you have done that, its carb time, you will proble need to rejet, with larger main jets to get more fuel into the now leanish running bike, so a size or 2 up from the standard will do the job, you may though be able to get away with just changing the air/fuel mixture screw on the bottom of the carb, wind out to richen wind in to lean your mixture, make sure you take note as to where you are sitting at as standard(wind the screw in taking note of how many turns in you have done) then wind it back out and add an extra half turn, go for a ride and adjust from there, (check your plugs you can tell alot from how they look as to how the bike is running) good luck and let me know if you have any questions |
