hello i ahve the same problem on my 2000 transalp.
what i am doing is swich of the engine run switch,turn the ignition on after switch on the engine swicth and quickly press the starter buttun,and it will start without any problems.

dont warry becouse you start the engine with the the imobilizer light on.
