i have an 81´ xl 500 , cannot get high rpm, currently cleaning the carb, wondering if ingition should be replaced? has anyone encountered this problem?

i have installed a high perf clutch, 11:1 comp. wiseco piston, bored .0030 over and replaced the timing chain and tensioner. when i did the work, the bike cranked!, but lately it is lacking. the top end rpm issue is getting old...
