the chrome bolt that you are talking about is for the chain tensoner that is spring loaded . and it is a threaded peice you are obviously are missing one of the valve cover assembly bolts that thread into tke chrome round pin . you have to get the bolt for it and turn the chrome pin and pull it out slightly untill you feel the hole in the chrome pin then tighten and your done
