| I just rebuilt my 1984 XL engine. The crank shaft was bad on mine also. Parts sure are expensive and used parts are very hard to find. After calling many junk yards I got lucky and found a motor in my city. I am unfamiliar with the XR engine, where the motor attaches to the frame etc. But having gone through the rebuilding process, I hope there is a way to put it in.
