I have had my VTX1300S for one year now, and it´s been very good, but, I also have been troubled by a noisy shift from 1st to second gear. It does not happen when going from 2nd to 3rd, or ony higher gear changes, only when shifting from 1st to 2nd. Prewvious Metric bikes had no such trouble (previous bike was Yamaha V-Star 650). I spoke with one other rider who has noticed the same thing. I assumme there is no cure for this. Does anyone know WHY these bikes shift like they do?
