I can´t believe the clunking in the transmission or shaft drive when you shift or slack of then reapply throttle. I took my 2004 Vtx 1300s back to my dealer and they said that´s just the way it is. I have friends bikes that I rode (2005 Harley soft tails)(1700 Yammy roadstar) and they shift so smooth. They tried my bike and could not believe how much it clunks. What a huge disapointment in honda.I was going to dress this bike up but have deciced to sell it and buy a Yamaha Roadstar. I am sure dissapointed and what a waist of time and money. Make sure you check this out before you buy a Honda. Look at the standard features on 1700 Yam. Auto off turn signals, Key locks steering and the key also allows the seat to come off for storage and helmet lockup. There is additional locking with pad lock on bars. I thought Honda was top of the line but was fooled by a good sales REP. Beware, Check it out. Trial ride the others first. Huge Differance in both. Yes Harley is way more expencive but the Yammy was only 1,000.00 More. This is my first new bike and I will never buy a Honda again. I susspect that I am not alone. The vibration is also unreal in acceleration but I could live with that. Thats another, Thats the way it is answer. . I feel like putting a please steel sign on my bike. What a waste.
