I´ve had the bike for about a month. Generally happy with the bike. positives- 1) wife likes the bike. 2) Nice lines 3) 1/3 the price of a harley negatives 1) Looks of plastic 2) No tach, fuel gauge or water temp (Even my son´s ninja 250 has these 3) Has some disturbing vibration/buzz- I finally found where it´s coming from. The headlight. I disassembled, tightened the internal screws and reassembled. "Buzz" seemed to go away for awhile. It´s back. It may be the harnesing (Connectors etc.) rattling around. Again, the head light assembely is plastic. I may have to get louder pipes to cover up the buzz if I can´t nail it down. 4) For a balance v-twin, I´m surprised you feel so much vibration throughout the bike- handle bars in particular 5) Rear seat is thin and uncomfortable. more: I added a sissy bar and luggage rack (Honda custom). With the mounts from Honda was over $500. About double what I could have got similar stuff through the web. I just added a switchblade 2-up windshield. Easy to install the mount kit. The shield litterally mounts and dismounts instantly. Very nice. Here´s a few questions: 1- anyone else notice the vibrations? Any rattles or buzz? 2- I bought the 4 year extended warranty so I´m a bit reluctant to try to "decaliforniaize" the bike. I´m told the pipes are restricted and the carb jet is undersized. Anyone have any experience with taking care of the restriction and/or the carb. Overall I like the bike and will slowly but surely tweak the bike as I find the time. Thanks Mark |
