No problematic quirks other than solid engine mounts which leads to vibration not so bad on bike but on hand grips at 1hr no gloves both hands are thoroughly tingly. No fuel gauge is weird, not even sight gauge or bubble gauge like older bikes. Overall great bike!
Valve lash shifting and cruising, sounds like every other big bike that has needle tip valve rocker assy. Way too quiet of a bike! VTX definitely screams for another gear whole time at hayway speeds 80+.

This bike great for all levels experience. Though it´s considered a cruiser custom? This is my first bike over 1200cc or in cruiser class. Previous bikes: 1974Honda XL dirt, Yamaha yzrz350cc 2stroke, 1990Honda CB900, 1994 Yamaha VMAX 1200cc. Imo the VTX 1300 and 1800 should be considered SC, sport cruiser class, like early Vmax´s. Handling is akin to Vmax´s but little more corner friendly and snappier. I´m skinny,190lbs and 6´5´ and can throw my VTX into corner if needed. No boards.
