we bought our VTX on 12-24-2005. What a %&#!¤IN bike. This was our first bike purchase and we did not go wrong. It has been dependable, great mileage, good looking (lots of compliments) and we just love it. Just added an Indian Roadmaster to our stable, but we are keeping the VTX. It will be an around the town bike, or my wife will ride it full time. Reference no gas gauge, just learn your mileage and keep track of it on your trip 1/2 odometer. If you have to change tanks, just figure you have 30 miles to go. Love this bike, it has been good to us and we have taken very good care of it. She has 43,000 miles and going strong.
