You can get Y2K mirrors that don´t have the rubber cover. I found some at arizona motorsports group...sorry don´t know the web address. They are priced at $51.10 ea + $2.66 ea for gaskets + $.65 ea for bolts. As far as the rear fender I have taken mine off a couple of times and I don´t think that there is any tricks.
