| I´ve just rated my VFR 750, here are some comments. The bike is very good everywhere, but funny nowhere. I use to do about 30.000KM per year(Winter included). The bike is gone to France, germany, switzerland, Italy and spain (I am belgian) these last two years without any problem. It´s rather cheap to use, and very reliable. with 20 additional bph and a braking system up to date it would be perfect. I also take part to track days each time it´s possible and there, of course, I have a big lack of power. anyway, on a short and twisty track, so as Croix-en-Ternois(France), it´s possible to forget a bunch of Ducati 748/996 and other R1 if their pilot are not too good and to struggle with the others. On Spa-Francorchamps, forget it! any mickey with 120 bph will leave you far behind. so, to conclude, the VFR is top of the list for road riding (from quite touring to pegs scrapping), It can do everything as well as a real tourer or a real sport bike. BUT in any case it´s a compromise. For my part, I take place on the sporty part of the users, and I´ve never found the bike funny or exciting. I plan to buy a sportier bike next year(probably a Daytona) but I will keep my VFR, The engine will have more than 100.000km behind him(so the bike will be impossible to sell) but ready to double them. And for everyday use, it´s still one of the best. |
