Yes, VFR800 1998 model (actually a 781cc) kept the gear driven distribution (moved to the right side of engine, allowing for a more compact engine), and has programmed fuel injection (derived from RC45 and NR750 models). Four injectors, one per cylinder. Plus it has 8 percent more torque than the 94-97 model, compression ratio is now 11,6:1, 0,6 point up from same previous models. Also: short-skirted low-friction coated pistons, sintered sleeves (aluminum-ceramic-graphite), engine weight goes down 2Kgs. Its VTR-inspired Pivotless frame, with swingarm directly attached to engine, gives it more stability and cuts some weight (-3,5Kgs). Profits from a new, more efficient cooling system with two lateral radiators. Peak torque is now 54,1ft.-lbs@8,500rpm and Peak horsepower 94,7bhp@10,500rpm. It is equipped with a 3-way catalytic system and two oxygen probes to make it one of the "greenest" bikes around. And last but not least, this bike has Dual-CBS breaking system provision (though you have to check whether this is an option or comes stock...). If you have any questions or need details, just ask... Have fun and ride safely, David.
