SAE10W-40 What Type Oil´s best???

SAE10W-40 What Type Oil´s best???

Doing an Oil change on my VF750SC(Sabre) 1984 model and was wondering what type of oils the best to use, it says in the manual SAE 10W-40 but what type of modern oils the best?? Semi-Synthetic, or would a lighter oil be best due to our Cams being prone to wear?
