Does CBR600 Mono shock fit VF750s ?

Hi All

I have a 1982 VF750S on it´s way to me and the previous owner says that the only area that needs some work is the rear shock. I read somewhere that the CBR600 mono shock can be adapted to fit the VF750 S....has anyone done this or any other shocks that can be recommended ?
