Find the lever under/behind the seat lock(reach further back)inside just behind lock. There is a bar that locks into place and holds seat down. Same thing happened to me at shop when I purchased my bike and the mechanic just reached in and made me feel foolish. No big deal. Hopefuly this helped you.-Rick
