The flasher on my 84 V65 is located directly behind the battery box. I had to take the mounting screws out of the rear break master cyclinder and carefully pull it forward. You can then unsnap the rear fender liner and reach in. There are two relays. The rectangular one is the fuel relay... the silver round cylindrical one is the flasher. I was able to clean mine by carefully bending the tabs open on the bottom.. and sliding the cover off. there is a relay and some electronics sealed in epoxy. on the right side if you have the relay upright is a thin strip of metal. That is what heats up and opens to cause the circuit to flash. I cleaned mine carefully. If you bend it wrong, the flashers won´t work at all.
