With 10,000 miles in 16 months I have yet to have the first mechanical problem. Still on the first set of tires. Whether 1000 miles weekends or 75 cruise thru the twisties it has been a pleasure to ride. Doing twisty roads does take some skill and time to learn. A weekend in the mountain switchbacks of NC is a great learning ground. One of it´s biggest attributes is that it sits up high enough to see the traffic very well. This is especially good on freeways and heavy traffic. The luggage is big enough to allow each person to carry one bag of clothes and still have room for the unavoidable rain suit. The fairing gives great weather protection even in windy stormy conditions. My passenger and I got caught in a storm and only the lower part of her legs got wet. The stock windshield seem low or small but the replacement windshields that are 4" higher w/o vents cause air buffeting and destroy the good handling characteristics. So be careful of what you wish for. I went back to the stock windshield after a windy ride. I think the gauges are very good, and yet everyone that rides with me enjoys having a big clock and a gas gauge. Looking forward to the next 40K miles. |
