My 02 gets 45 or so now that I´ve got everything adjusted correctly. The Keihin´s are unmodified on my bike but they had been played with. The were also out of sinc. It will now go about 150 plus miles everytime before going on reserve. Before? 120 miles to reserve.
With engine warmed up and at idle, turn the idle mixture screw inward (clockwise) slowly until the engine starts to stumble. Make a mental note of the clock position of the screwdriver. Now turn the idle mixture screw outwards until the engine begins to run smoothly plus another 1/8 to 1/4 turn. Adjusting the idle mixture screw out to far results in an overly rich, low RPM fuel mixture leading to poor gas mileage and carbon buildup in the combustion chamber.
