96 Shadow VT1100 Turn Signal Problem |

Hello, my name is Jon Patton. I wanted to introduce myself and say that I´m excited about this discussion group. I am head of the photography department for Gander Mountain´s direct (catalog and web) business. My other passion is my bike. Nothing feels more free than the ride. Here´s what happened. I finally painted her a nice, flat olive drab army green, and with the loud pipes, she sounds and looks good. When I soldered the rear signal light wires back together and tested it, something was wrong. My front signal lights work correctly, but on the tail, both signal lights blink at the same time. I searched extensively for a short, actually found one and fixed it. Still the same problem. So I checked the turn signal relay under the gas tank, and it is making the switching sound, and I can also feel the thing clicking with the signals. I don´t know what else to do and I really want to participate in the up-coming local 9/11 ride. Do I need to order a new turn signal relay? My grouchy old friend barked at me and said I needed to check with you guys first, instead of just throwing parts at it. Thanks for your help, Jon |
