Leaking fuel out of fuel pump.

I just bought my 1998 Honda Shadow Aero. Rode a day, it was about 92 degrees, turned engine off and fuel pump started leaking gas. It stop in a bit. Started engine and leaked again. Can you get the fuel pump out without taking the whole rear end of bike off? Also can you rebuild the fuel pump? Thanks Kent
