I have the same issue as you. I want to place an external air intake. Since the backbone is the chase for the air induction. I´m kind stumped. We were going to try and mount i an external Stock intake from a 750 ace on the side cover under my right leg. But I shaved the seat and that would interfere with my leg, We took the cover off the stock breather and shaved off the plastic lip, Roughly about an inch of material was removed. If you look at the filter, you can see that the top section of it does not show that any dirty air has passed. After doing this I found that acceleration response was greatly improved. During the time I had the seat in for modifications, I road with a thick foam pad so not to miss out on any ridin time. At first the suction pulled the pad down on the filter and stalled the motor. I then cut the pad in the shape of a horse shoe. Male toilet seat. Let me tell you now ,you can really tell the difference in the throttle at this point. But!! There is one draw back to this operation, when behind a vehicle with a backdraft. It has a vacuum effect and will pull the air away from the intake and have the stall affect. So with every crazy idea come another challenge. WE are going to make a custom seat pan with a bugscreen and have it set right between the legs and as close to the tank as possible....Safe ridin...
