People have mentioned getting better mileage with the higher octane, but most of it is just their imagine, and the rest is riding habit. Regardless of octane, a gallon of gas has the same amount of energy to release when it burns. The higher octne will prevent it from pinging, but nothing else. Out of curiosity, what did it cost you to have the fuel pump replaced? Mine is dead, and it´s a bit of a project to change. I´d like to find the cracksmoker engineer who thought it was a good idea to mount the pump and filter under the airbox, requiring removal of the swingarm (and everything behind it) to change the pump.
