First I would like to say I would like to go back in time and visit the Honda plant engineering department, then beat an engineer severely about the head and shoulders. Who was the cracksmoker that thought it would be a good idea to bury a fuel filter and pump UNDER the airbox, requiring the entire back half of the bike to be dismantled to change them?! Standard procedure is to remove the swingarm and everything attached to it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!! Ok, I´ve had my rant. Has anyone, 1.) Figured out an easier way to change a fuel pump, or 2.) Mount a fuel pump somewhere else? It has crossed my mind to rip out the airbox, build a new mount for the pump and filter in that now empty cavity, and use a ´pod´ air filter. I just need to figure out which pod, and how to attach it. |
