Replacing fork springs on 2002 1100 c2

Can I replace the front suspension springs on a 2002 1100 Honda shadow saber without removing the fork assembly? Can I lift the front end from the ground, take off the caps and remove the spacer and the springs without disassembling the fork assembly?
