Sound s to me like it vapor locked on you. Was it very hot outside? Was your bike full of fuel or about empty? I recently was riding on a very hot day and stopped to get fuel. When I was ready to leave the bike would not turn over. It acted as though it was getting no fuel. I pushed it into a shaded area and let it sit for a while and then it fired right up.
