Baffles in the Cobra Pipes...

I recently purchased a ´95 Honda VLX, 600cc. It´s been jetted and has Cobra Pipes. Will the engine be damaged if I take the baffles out of the pipes? The bike only has 5000 miles on it, and I don´t want to damage it. However, I love a deep throated rummble. Guess I´m a Harley want to be! Please advise.
