Took mine on a 740 mile round trip ride and had a ball! Was able to stay off the interstate and run at 55 mph except for about 30 miles each way where the speed limit was 70 mph and most folks were doing 80 and better. Was able to maintain a steady 70 mph without the usual buzz, vibration, and "overworked" engine sound that we VLXers encounter at or near redline, thanks to a California Sprocket conversion (38 tooth, I believe.) Low end acceleration suffers a bit but the other end of the spectrum is smooth and RPM is probably 15% less than with the factory sprocket. I had a sissy bar mounted T-Bag and a one man tent, sleeping bag and mat were strapped to the luggage rack, probably a total of 60 lbs. Fuel consumption averaged 65 mpg.
