I was hoping to find a reliable, unassuming dependable, low-maintenance [shaft drive] motorcycle as an apartment dweller and having the bike parked outside in open air was the reason for purchasing this beautiful, ugly bike. The all black 2019 Honda Phantom I have is unassuming, too slow and ugly for a thief to waste potential jail time for. The only things shiny are the exhaust pipes and one of them has been rusty since a month after leaving the bike shop brand new, but that´s okay, the uglier the better. Thieves are looking more for sports bikes and chrome parts; there is nothing on a Phantom worth your time or would want to haul the whole bike for if you´re a thief. The Phantom is my dream bike come true and it´s worry free, maintenance free. You can almost drive it from new to 10,000 miles before you service it, if you´re that lazy, but don´t. Follow the manual and check your oil & tires every two months, add gas and just ride.
