The stator issue is that the original fails at an early age. Most have been replaced by now. My bike has 57,000 miles on it and it has been replaced. The tire rubbing issue is due to people putting different tires on the bike. ie. larger tires. I don´t know what parts you would have to buy in order to put a bigger tire on the bike. I use the stock size and have no issues.
