Like Rob said, very, very good bike. The Aprilia may be a tad faster but it as fragile as a crystal glass and bloody expensive to maintain. Ive had my NSR just over a year and i love her as much now as when i set eyes on her. Bought her second hand for £2000.00 and havent had a minuite trouble with her.
I agree that if you are going to get an NSR get one second hand Honda parts are cheap and plentiful were as you can be waiting ages to get parts for an Aprilia or a Cagiva. Plus the electrics on Italian bikes like the Cagiva are crap. Make sure you treat your NSR right and use the right oil and much fun is to be had :)
