I own a 2004 V-Star 650 and sat in traffic for 2 hours durring the sturgis rally with 100 degree heat and didn´t find a problem. Go with the Yamaha, they have done thier homework and the bike will run forever. There are less moving parts to end up broken on an air colled bike, no cooling lines to blow, no water pump to go bad, yada, yada, yada. K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) Good luck.
