Heli Bars are intended to raise bar handles, i.e., bar-risers. The ultimate purpose is to improve the upright ergonomics (posture) for extended time/distance prior to discomfort. However, I would like to add that poor abdominal- and lower back- strength and flexibility is the primary contributing factor to discomfort. 2002 VFR is higher tech with a newer VTEC motor from the ´heralded´ 5th generation (1998-2001). With the addition of the 2-)4 valve 7,000 rpm spike in power it becomes a bit of a competitor to the sports bikes; I emphasize bit...but this is not what a Viffer is for. Reviewers have raised the bar of expectation for Honda´s VFR and the 2002 got ´hammered´ in the review/ratings vs the 5th generation. Did they screw it up? No...they followed the mission of Honda´s famous ´advancing technology´ which also includes linked braking (purists dislike this). Linked braking has been ´documented´ to have saved many average riders (weekenders, monther´s, etc) from excessive harm and bike dumps. A mere ´overide switch´ would have served the biker´s delight. Heat is a little more and the bike is a heavier for 2002. Learn more through VFR Reviews for 2002. Rich´s gel seats should be considered with the popular ones; Corbin an Sargeant. For all terms search for motorcycle definitions. Good luck, MtnRider (Seattle,WA) |
