I had the same problem just recently. A friend gave me an old gyro that hadn´t been used for over a year (it´s apparently cheaper to give old bikes away than dispose of them in Japan). I put in a new battery and it kicked over as it should; it just wouldn´t start. I took it to a repair shop who´s owner took a two minute look at it and said \
