I have just returned from a ride and noticed the final drive leaking gear oil out of the bottom (not the drain plug)

I did a full tune up early spring and checked the oil levels then.

I have yet to remove the rear tire. Am I safe to presume it would be a seal or something more?

I am pretty good with the wrench but do not have any specialized tools.
