Have an ´82 GL 500. It´s always taken a lot of cranking when cold after sitting for a couple of weeks, but it´s gotten worse and have to do something. Will run the battery down with not so much as a puff out of the engine. Let it sit for a few minutes to let the battery recover and it will fire a little. Let is sit a little longer, and it starts. I think the vacuum deal on the gas supply that´s supposed to allow gas into the carbs when cranking and running is working. Any ideas?
