Faring Removal or Back Rest & Saddlebag Addition? |

I´m looking at a couple 81 - 82 Silver Wing bikes. I love the look overall, including the hard saddle bags, passenger back rest & trunk, but hate the faring! The way I see it I have 2 options available to me (based on the bikes available in my area). I can get one with the faring, hard saddlebags, back rest & trunk, and try to remove the faring, replacing it with a regular windshield, if available. Or I can get the one without any of the above, and try to find the ´hardware´ (hard saddlebags, back rest & trunk) online somewhere, and add them myself. Both bikes cost roughly the same. Basically I was wondering what might be the most cost effective & cause the least severe headache. I can´t seem to find a plentiful amount of the ´hardware´ I´m looking for online. But I also read that removing the faring is a pain in %!¤itself, plus I´d need to buy different replacement parts. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated! Thanks! |
