Tomorrow I pick up a 20th anniversary GoldWing. I was in getting brake for my 2000 Valk when I heard some negotiations going on between an elder gentleman and the sales manager at the supply company I use. Next to them was the most beautiful candy red SE. Once they had a break in the conversation, I had already determined that the dealer would not pay what the man wanted mainly because he was not buying another bike. I took my phone out and checked the value on the net. I, being a vendor to the dealership, then offered a compromise. I offered to pay the man 700 less then he said he wanted and then said I would pay the dealership $200 for facilitating the deal. To my great and very happy surprise, they both said “I’ll take it”. Today, I must go home and clean out may garage to fit two bikes and all my tools that I use to do my own wrenching. I am counting the minutes until I pick it up. I am in Carlsbad, CA and ride about 150 miles a day, so this new (to me) GoldWing will do two thing for me, first, it will reduce the mileage build up and secondly, I will have wheel while my bike is at the chopper shop being painted and having some stuff installed (custom made) that will probably take the better of three months to do. WEEhoooo!!!!!!!!!!!
