Fuel filter is under seat. Look at cut off valve and just to the right is filter. Phillips screw will release filter. Undo right side and pull out left side. Chances are you have the same problem a lot of us have. Crap in the gas tank. I have a 82 standard and an 83 Aspencade. They both have rust or some kind of crap in the gas tamks.
