Just purchased an 81 GW with 50,000 miles on the spedometer. I put a couple of gallons of gasoline in the fuel tank. Jump started and ran the engine for a couple of minutes. It soon started smoking from the left side and ran a little rough. I shut it down. Noticed an oil leak from the timing chain cover on the front of the engine. Next morning found oil all over the garage floor. The engine has sucked most of the fuel from the tank when I ran the engine and filled the crankcase full. Consequently the gas-thinned oil had leaked from the engine onto the floor. The crankcase breather was of course full. What has caused this to happen? Are the carb floats stuck open thus draining fuel into the crankcase? What other possibilities are there. I Don´t see any water in the oil, cooling system is still topped off after the engine test run. I don´t think that there is any block cracking in light of the ok water level. Someone with some Honda savvy here can probably help me out with this. Thank you in advance for the info. Ron |
