I think it´s your battery. I have an 83 Interstate and if it idles for more than a couple of minutes the battery is history. There are just too many electrical accessories on Goldwings and they don´t charge at lower RPM´s. Get a trickle charger for your battery and connect it a 2 amps overnight once or twice a week - it will help our battery keep up with the load. Turn off your high-beam and any electrical accessories before cranking the starter, and don´t let the bike sit at idle any longer than necessary.
