Side car set up for soft ride

I am installing a champion escort side car on my 82 GL 1100 Gold Wing. My wife has had numeracy back surgeries and can not ride the rear seat.
The side car will hopefully be the answer to bring her back into biking.
Any, tips on getting the softest ride in the car would be most welcomed.
