Did you get it fixed or do you still have the bike? I had this problem and it was the starter solenoid. I had the dealership order one and it was not the "right" one. When I brought the original in they found that a Yamaha solenoid would fit . . . at $50 cheaper! Works fine now. Wish you the best!
