In ´82, while living i Beeville,TX I bought a new ´82 FT500 Ascot at the Honda shop in Corpus Christi, TX. I ordered a Vetter Quicksilver and mount an proceded to put 78,000 miles on it until I traded it for an ´85 Honda 700 Nightwhak S. One of the worst mistakes I have made. I still miss that Ascot an the fun I had. It was mostly trouble free except for a leaky head gasket repaired under warrenty and the exhoust pipe inner tube broke free and rattled like the dickens. Replaced that with an aftermarket pipe single wall pipe and never looked back. Made it west to California and east to Vermont and all over Texas. Sure didn´t look good at the end but still ran strong and handed out wheelies with ease.
