My first impressions of the Valkyrie from the show room were impressive. Retro styling is either a love or hate. I test drove the bike for thirty minutes. Good: Like all Honda´s, the movement of all the levers are silky smooth, clicks to indicate movement. The gears shifts are smooth and true to Honda´s workmanship on this bike. Excellent low rpm acceleration, and the gear changes don´t give you any surprises, even under heavy throttle. LOTS OF HEAD TURNING ON THIS BIKE. Bad: Imaging a chrome fridge on wheels. It´s wide, it´s heavy, and the riding position isn´t too hot. The bike is heavy. Very very heavy. Did I mention it was heavy? I was also feeling very uncomfortable leaning this bike too much into turns. It´s definately not a nimble bike for movement and parking, but I think owners buying this engine with wheels know that. Overall not a bad bike to give Harley something to think about in design and innovation. Touche Honda. |
