| just bought a 93 honda elite 80 off craigslist for 50 bucks! sounds like a steal. the guy told me that it ran fine til recently. he said he used to have to jump start it from his car to get it going. then one time, it failed to start. he says he thinks theres something bad in the electrical area...well, i would guess, he prob blew out something by jumping it with a car, i would think thats too much power. so, heres my questions: 1. where do i start to look for possible electrical problems given what was stated above? a friend told me to check out the CDI he called it, but he doesnt think thats the right name. its supposed to look like a little module, with heat dispersing fins on it, with a wiring harness connected. he says this is the brain for the scooter.i found it, but dont know how to know if its been blown out. 2. can a kickstart be added to this particular model of scooter? they dont come with one, and i tried looking them up online, but havent found any for it. 3. when i hit the front brake, the front end comes up, rather than dips down. i found this to seem unusual...is this just the way the front suspension is set up on these? bc, i looked, and everything looks normal on it, and is tightened down. any help is appreciated! thanks! |
