I bought a very low mileage 2005 Elite and had the same initial problem. The constant velocity carburetor has a Rube Goldberg electric choke that involves melting wax! I installed a new choke ($75 plus S&H) to no effect. Then I installed a thin O ring under the choke mechanism on the advice of someone who posted on another forum. It helped a lot with the performance when it was cold but then it would stall sometimes when it was hot. I finally started carrying a can of starting fluid and shooting a blast of it up the air filter drain tube when it died. That works but it can be dangerous having it stall in traffic and having to push it off the road somewhere to get it going again. Overall, I am very disappointed in the poor design of the whole system. Not what I expected from Honda.
