Tires should not wear excessively, check for under-inflation or increase inflation with heavier loads. I purchased a Michelin tire from a Honda shop for $42... $58 out the door with taxes and other fees. Have seen tires for the same price at scooter shops... made in China. Tires available on line for $32 with $20 shipping and handling fees. My $58 dollar tire is still cheaper than the turn-signal relay I need to buy. Those are available on line for $36 with the customary $20 shipping and handling. My ´97 Honda Elite 80 has an issue with headlight and turning indicator switches. Previous owner just by-passed the headlight dimmer switch directly to the battery with after market switch and fuse. Have had no luck returning the headlight circuit to it´s original condition. Turning indicator switch worked intermittently when I purchased it... now does not work at all. Turning indicator relay rattles when shaken... but not sure there is even power to that circuit... may be the same issue as the headlight dimmer, no power to switch. Heard that water and road dirt can compromise the wiring harness. Putting an interrupter switch before the headlight dimmer to reduce the load on the battery when starting. My rear tire is running tubeless and hope the new tire solves the slow leaks I was experiencing. Other than these minor problems my Elite runs great... fires up on the first try. Needs to warm up a bit before hitting the gas. I feel this problem and the electrical problems may be solved by garaging the scooter at night to prevent the cold and moisture from entering the electrical circuits and cold soaking the motor. would love to hear from other Honda Elite owners regarding their experiences with their scooter... especially to take advantage of their trouble shooting efforts. I wear high visibility clothing when I ride and a helmet of course. I am installing a high visibility LED stop and tail light on the back of my basket as the factory tail lights are not sufficient to alert other drivers on the road. Some side lighting might also be worth while.
