In my opinion the @ was an absolute masterpiece. It handles like a sports scooter and looks like a commuter so they don´t get stolen at the same rate as the Gilera Runner. There aren´t many left in the showrooms but if a dealer isn´t prepared to tell you anything but the price go elsewhere. Clarks of Accrington still have a brand new one for £1999 but it´s that bloody awful metallic green otherwise I might have been tempted myself. I had mine for 2 years, it never missed a beat. I never got less than 70mpg and usually got up into the eighties. I´m no lightweight but it would cruise at 55-60 and topped out a little over 65. I went back to bikes but wish I had kept the @ purely for the practicality. My next two wheeler is likely to be a Honda Dylan By the way I´ve got a mate who has just traded in his @ , he bought it new in 2001 and covered 35000 trouble free miles. Whatever you buy ride safely , there are plenty of idiots giving us all a bad name. All the best. |
